All CID officers are elected every four years at the General Assembly, where CID Members vote (also by proxy, to ensure that those who do not have the means to

travel are not deprived of their right to vote). The current Executive Committee was elected on 19 July 2009 in Malaga, Spain.

Total number of CID members at that date was 5499 in 146 countries. 1561 members were considered active. Out of them, 107 members from 38 countries

were present and 62 members from 25 countries were represented.

The current CID President Mr. Alkis Raftis was born in Athens in 1942. He holds degrees from 4 universities and speaks 6 languages. He has taught at 4

universities and has lectured in another 15.

He has authored 22 books on dance, culture and management. He has edited 28 books, 8 CDs,9 CD-ROMs and a bi-monthly review, as well as the Dance

Pandect portal. Prof. Raftis has held top posts in industrial, banking and cultural organizations; since 1987 he is president of the national Dora Stratou Dance

Theater in Athens. He works mostly in Athens, regularly in Paris, and is often attending meetings of members in other countries.

When in Paris, you can visit the CID Headquarters, where liaison matters with UNESCO are handled. You can meet there:

Ms. Geneviève Dahan-Selzer                                   General Secretary

Countess Françoise Duboc de Caulaincourt         Executive Committee Member

Mr. Mathieu Gemon                                                  Management Trainee

The current CID President's Office is in a prestigious 5-storey mansion in Plaka, the old town of Athens, under the Acropolis (picture below). Contacts with

members are maintained from this office.
