Applications for membership

Only members in good standing can use "Member of the CID” on their stationery, visiting cards, school entrances, brochures etc. Active members are specifically mentioned in the Directory.

Individuals

The C.I.D. accepts as members persons with sufficient credentials on a national or international level.

Also, individuals who offer their services directly to the General Secretariat of the CID on a permanent basis.

International or National Organizations

Documents required: A professional profile (curriculum vitae, resume, bio data) describing in detail the applicant's activities in dance, together with supporting documents.

-  Letter by the President or the officer representing the Organization, stating that the Organization accepts the statutes of the C.I.D. and wishes to become its member.

-  Copy of the statutes of the Organization.

-  An account of the history, activities and structure of the Organization.

-  Composition of the Board of Directors or equivalent body of the Organization.

National Dance Committees

National Dance Committees must comply to the following requirements:

-  Be founded by members of the CID in a country member of the UNESCO.

-  Be recognized by the government authorities of the respective country, or its delegation in the UNESCO, as representative of the entire dance spectrum in their country.

-  Be open to all forms of dance (theatrical, social, traditional etc.), all practices (performing, teaching, recreation, research etc.), as well as all regions in the country. Its membership should reflect its representative character.

-  Accept that any refusal of membership by the National Committee can be appealed against at the Executive Committee of the C.I.D., whose decision the National Committee undertakes to apply.

-  Guarantee its own financial resources and secretariat.

-  Maintain constant contact with the competent government authorities of its country, as well as with the UNESCO Committee.

When notified on acceptance, send membership fee for the current year.
You will receive a certificate signed by the President of CID, your registration number and a variety of printed matter
